The organization ” (“Save the World Against Pollution, Narcotics and Ammunition ” (SWAPNA)) is working for the betterment of urban, rural and tribal people with optimum priority during crisis period, demographic collusion, communal riots, rampant outbreak of epidemic, disaster and high celerity of fatal diseases. Its aim is not to enable them to remain in a dream world but to show them the way by which they will enjoy their rights and duties. Motivation and awareness drive has been geared up by many social activists being associated with SWAPNA since 2001 immediately after Super Cyclone that ravaged the beauty and glory of orissa – our state. The organization bestows moral support to the victims of HIV positive shed and rendering services on various landmark turns & situations and striving to build up a HIV free nation.

Apart from that, Grants are received and Resource Generation strategies are prepared for sustenance of the organization. Awareness generation/ Capacity Building, Health awareness and eradication of social stigmas are the main focused area of the organization. In addition to that Preventive Services, Care support and treatment services, Targeted Interventions for High Risk Groups are the key activities for the challenge before combating HIV infection. People are well educated about the high alacrity of STD/HIV/AIDS in the society only because of certain means which has been well defined. High risk behavior of certain categories of people is the susceptible concept for celerity of this dreaded disease. Acquired immune deficiency syndrome( AIDS) is a condition thought to be caused by a virus, in which the body’s white cells lose their ability to protect against infections. This is no doubt a monstrous disease and presently escalating with a high celerity in India. The causes are not dubious but needs to be penetrated into the mind of rural people for their welfare with a motto of prevention. It is intensive among the motor vehicle drivers, helpers and migrant laborers. Unprotected sexual workers and recklessness of some categories creating the disease more and more alarming among the rural people. This disease not only ruins the life of the victims but also handicaps the generation due to lack of awareness and consciousness. So far there has no such formula been invented for alleviation but the social activists are coming forward to curb the affliction through a best weapon of information, education and communication with an objective to bridle HIV transmission and raise awareness regarding STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) & AIDs in general public. Non-Govt. Organizations are shouldering high responsibilities in disseminating such information among the people both rural and urban in order to control the dreaded disease. Village wise awareness campaign is absolutely necessary in order to prevent the disease. People at all level should be made aware about the main cause and spread of Human Immunodeficiency Virus which ultimately brings mishap for their life. SWAPNA is handling projects for Targeted Intervention. Similarly Consumer awareness is indispensable for the wellbeing of the beneficiaries in the state and it is the responsibility of the conscious mass to ensure consumer satisfaction through education and awareness. It is most essential to create consumer awareness among the households of each part of the state which is the prime responsibility of the civil society. It needs to the accelerated from right now and then because the plight of consumer is to be properly addressed so that the nation can be defined as a developed one. is a voluntary, charitable, non-profit making, non-political and non-sectarian organization pledged to the service of the community irrespective of caste, creed, colour and sex. Not only this, but the organization has become a leading one in implementing various health related projects getting in touch with the social development strata where it gives voice to the voiceless and smile to the depressed.
